Survey Says

Some Highlighted Comments

  • "If I remember correctly, the delicious feed isn't working in the version we're using. "
    • agd: this seems to be broken
  • "The admin interface is buggy. Information added to Pluslets is often missing, but shows up in public interface. Simiarly, search boxes will not appear without information added to a pluslet. In other cases, Base Pluslets do not initially attach to the right sidebar and must be reattached through the "Find" Pluslet interface."
    • agd: more info needed
  • "My users would like more jQuery goodness in the admin interface. They love the drag-and-drop ordering the way it is now, but they'd like to, e.g., be able to move a database from one source type to another, or have one source type appear above another, by dragging and dropping on the "Organize Resources" page."
    • agd: some good ideas here, need more info
  • "Printing out guides has some issues, I think. I need to test more and will report when possible."
    • agd: better print CSS! Also, thought about what's best to include. Ditto for mobile version.
  • "We needed to have a databases by subject page as well as an A-Z list"
    • agd: could be a logical enhancement
  • "I had to change some things one the staff pages to get them to link properly to the profiles. Displays of item records (icons, &c.) is inconsistent depending on the A-Z v Subject Guides. The admin interface looks nice, but the workflow is awfully confusing. Hiding the whole header in the edit course guide view is not helpful at all. "heading" pluslet is stubby and looks strange."
    • agd: some good points here
  • "My users would like more jQuery goodness in the admin interface. • agd: more good ideas
  • "Dynamically created left hand navigation to the guides would be useful, along with Subject and Course categories to organize those guides."
    • agd: would require a 3 col layout?
  • "the ability to create widgets (like the legend) through the admin interface that can then be changed globally."
    • agd: like a widget builder? interesting idea. could be hard.
  • "We have a very basic JSON API for Subsplus now"
    • agd: find out more
  • "It should be easier to re-style a page. SUBJECT GUIDE: Those colors of those curved blocks at the tops of pluslets, for instance. Also, the right-hand column's "show/hide" behavior would make more sense if they were all hidden by deafult (or if there were an option when building pluslets to show/hide by default). And the left-hand column show/hide functionality should be gone. If anything, that column should display a nice, collapsed panel of source types (with item counts), which a user can then click to find what he/she is after."
  • "A help link in the admin module to topic-specific tutorials. Maybe even a few screen capture videos."
  • "I think it would really help if the documentation was updated and expanded. Also, it's frustrating that, when pasting text or adding a token from the database, the addition gets inserted at the upper left corner of the box instead of where your cursor is/was."
